Abstract

Mediastinitis is a serious medical condition. It´s often the result of an advanced deep neck infection. We describe a 56-years-old man who presented a clinical picture consisted in fever, dysphonia, chest pain, and hemoptoic expectoration. He eventually developed mediastinitis and empyema as a result of acute epiglottitis.
