Abstract

Scoliosis is a deformity of the thoracic and lumbar spine that sometimes requires surgical treatment. Corrective scoliosis surgery is a highly complex and prolonged surgical intervention that may involve significant blood loss. Pain management poses a challenge for the anesthesiologist, and our hospital employs a multimodal, opioid-sparing anesthesia regimen. This surgery is associated with the risk of spinal cord injury, so it is generally performed under neurophysiological monitoring. Other complications arise from the prone position and excessive bleeding
