Abstract

The incidence of breast cancer has been increasing in recent years. Its main treatment is surgical, the most common being the combined use of general anesthesia with regional ultrasound-guided techniques.
We present the case of a patient with high respiratory morbidity who underwent a simple mastectomy who underwent an ultrasound-guided block of the lateral cutaneous branches of the intercostal nerves (BRILMA) associated with sedation, avoiding general anesthesia, with implications at the respiratory that it entails.
In patients with high anesthetic risk, regional anesthesia is the treatment of choice. This is why locoregional anesthesia is postulated as an ideal alternative in polypathological patients.
