Abstract

Septic shock represents one of the main causes of acute circulatory failure in the Intensive Care Units.

Both hemodynamic monitoring techniques based on thermodilution (TPT) and echocardiography (CCE) are widely used in the monitoring of critically ill patients with shock. However, to date, both monitoring modalities have not been sufficiently compared.

The aim of the present work was to evaluate the degree of concordance in the interpretation of the quantitative parameters derived from the monitoring with TPT and CCE in a cohort of mechanically ventilated patients with septic shock.
