Abstract

Efficient airway management in pediatric patients prior to general anesthesia is essential, usually
through direct visualization of the glottis through direct laryngoscopy. In special cases such as
temporo mandibular ankylosis (TMJ), intubation becomes a challenge since it presents a limited or no
mouth opening, categorizing it as a difficult airway. Case 1. 8-year-old male patient with post-traumatic TMJ temporo-mandibular ankylosis, 26 kilos.
Presents a mouth opening of approximately 1 cm, adequate cervical mobility, no macroglossia or
additional facial malformation Case 2. A 6-year-old male patient, the cause of temporo-mandibular ankylosis is a reoperation,
without adequate physiotherapy and TMJ recurred. The physical examination showed that the mouth opening
is not possible, adequate cervical mobility, does not present additional
