Resumen

De la misma forma que en la última década del siglo XX aparecieron los Dispositivos Supraglóticos, la primera década del siglo XXI se ha caracterizado (en el campo de la vía aérea difícil) por la aparición de una gran cantidad de Dispositivos Opticos (DO) en un intento de mejorar la intubación endotraqueal.

Existen tal número de DO que muchas veces nos resulta difícil identificarlos, clasificarlos y recordar sus nombres y además al ser unos dispositivos bastantes recientes, existen pocos estudios controlados y con una evidencia limitada, y se precisan futuros estudios para sacar conclusiones.

Con esta revisión intentamos simplificar y aglutinar los distintos DO que existen actualmente en el mercado.
