Resumen

Tulip (Omnimate Enterprise, Taiwán) es un dispositivo supraglótico para el manejo de la vía aérea de aparición reciente, de un solo uso y tamaño único que se caracteriza por una inserción sencilla y una cazoleta en su extremo distal biselada, de forma poliédrica, de alto volumen y de baja presión.

Se trata de un estudio descriptivo en el que se incluyeron 75 pacientes para valorar la facilidad de inserción de este dispositivo y su sellado orofaríngeo. Además, se observaron tres respiraciones en ventilación controlada con un volumen corriente de 6 mL/Kg, presión pico < 25 cmH2O y end-tidal de CO2 dentro de los límites normales.

Se incluyeron los pacientes entre 18 y 70 años, ASA I-II, programados para cirugía bajo anestesia general excluyéndose cirugía de cabeza y cuello, con o sin relajación neuromuscular. Los pacientes con riesgo de broncoespasmo, regurgitación y aspiración pulmonar fueron excluidos de su participación en el estudio.
